GPSmart ships within North America, primarily to Canadian addresses. GPSmart can ship certain items internationally (outside of North America); such as mapping software, charts and accessories.  International orders must be small, lightweight and under $300.00 CAD in value.  GPSmart reserves the right to request additional information for credit card verification, such as faxed and / or emailed copies of credit cards.  International shipments may be subjected to additional customs and duties.  Any additional customs and duties are your responsibility.  You must obtain customs and duty rate information locally, as GPSmart does not maintain any rate schedules.

Same business day shipping for in-stock orders received before 1:00 p.m. EST ( shipping policy ). Product availability is noted within each product description.  Product availability status is updated daily.  Orders may be cancelled without penalty (return policy) up until the time order is shipped.  Your credit card will not be charged until product is in stock and released for shipping from GPSmart (partial shipments will be considered chargeable).  Shipment tracking notification is provided to your email address.

As standard security practice, GPSmart performs a "Name / Address / Phone # Verification" on successful credit card transactions.   Please help with this process by providing a "delivery address" matching the credit card "bill to" address.  Delivery addresses differing from "bill to" addresses will be subject to further verification.  Most credit card institutions allow for an optional "delivery address" to be included in cardholder account record (this can streamline your internet purchases). Complete verification procedure.

Need it in a hurry? Next business day pick up of pre-paid orders is available at our Mississauga distribution centre for in-stock items ordered on any business day before 1:00 pm EST.  Please request confirmation and pick up instructions at info@gpsmart.ca , quoting your name and order number.  Pick up is not available for rental units.

GPSmart's shipping services include delivery insurance against lost shipments.  GPSmart offers the following delivery options:

Actual delivery time is a function of the distance from our Toronto distribution location.  For example, customers selecting Canada Post Expedited Parcel can expect the following delivery times based on location:

Canada Post Priority Courier (Air service) provides a 1-2 day delivery to major centres in Canada. 

These delivery times are estimates only.   Actual delivery commitments are postal code specific.                        

Delivery option is selected during the "Check Out" process.

Only one delivery charge applies to your entire order, regardless of the quantity of items included in your order.   Orders exceeding $1,500.00 CDN in value may be subject to an additional 1% shipping fee for additional insurance costs.  You will be notified in advance of any additional fees. 

Shipments are insured for loss.  GPSmart is responsible for shipment delivery up to the time of delivery signature.  GPSmart is not responsible for lost shipments due to address errors during customer inputting of order address  information.  GPSmart customers should be careful to verify inputted address information.

A customer signature is required for deliveries over $100.00 CAD in value.  Unsuccessful delivery attempts by Canada Post will result in a notification directing recipients to pick up at their nearest Post Office outlet.

Privacy and Security

GPSmart believes that electronic privacy is crucial to the ongoing success of the Internet as a service and commercial medium. Our policy is to keep the personal information we receive from our site completely confidential, and used solely for internal purposes. We will not share your personal information with any other parties.

GPSmart will not willfully disclose any individually identifiable information about its users to any third party.

GPSmart will not use your personal information for the purpose of unsolicited communications of any kind.

GPSmart utilizes eCommerce transaction services provided by Maximizer Multiactive EC Services Inc. and Paradata systems of B.C. Canada for the processing of orders.  All personal and credit card information is processed using a secure (SSL encryption) connection provided by Verisign.   Customer credit card numbers are removed from GPSmart's database within 48 hours of processing.

Before entering any personal or credit information, please ensure you observe the following:

1. Microsoft LOCK in the bottom right corner is present, or;
2. Netscape (v3.x) KEY in the bottom left hand corner is not broken, or;
3. Netscape (v4.x) LOCK in the bottom left hand corner is present.

Note: The secure connection will be active only when the order transaction is taking place (i.e. when you are inputting personal information and credit card information).   

By double clicking on the LOCK (or KEY) symbol, details of the secure connection will be provided.

Order Processing Policy

  • GPSmart requires both a "Bill To" and "Delivery" address for all purchases.  Your "Bill To" address is the billing address and phone number on record with the credit card issuing financial institution. The delivery address  is where you would like the product(s) delivered to.  Your order verification can be completed faster if the "Bill To" and the "Delivery" addresses are the same. 
  • For security, GPSmart performs an "Address Verification" for purchases by contacting the issuing financial institution and comparing customer provided "Bill To" information with the issuing financial institution's records.  This information must match.
  • For orders with a delivery address different than the bill to address, GPSmart will phone the card holder at the telephone number verified during the "Address Verification" to verify purchase.  Customers may also provide their credit card issuers with a separate "delivery address" to be included in the account record.
  • The verification process requires that credit cards issued by Canadian financial institutions be used.  GPSmart reserves the right to void, or require further information for purchases made with a non Canadian credit card. 
  • Credit card transactions are processed in real time, and are approved by the issuing financial institution.  Customer credit card transactions remain in a "Pre Authorization" state until the product ordered ships to the customer.  Once the product ships to the customer, the credit card account is billed for the purchase amount.   Customer orders can by cancelled without cost up to the time of shipping.  Bulk orders are subject to a 15% restocking fee after order has shipped from the manufacturer. 

Repairs

Warranty repairs made easy ! GPSmart will provide customers with a pre-paid Canada Post waybill (via email - Adobe format) for the return of defective product coverage as per the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty.  Pre paid waybills are provided are shipments originating in Canada only.

GPS units can be serviced directly by our manufacturers, or by a Canadian authorized service organization for Garmin and Magellan.  Both warranty, and out of warranty repairs can be performed by obtaining an RMA (Return Materials Authorization) number from the manufacturer and shipping the units directly to:

Garmin, TomTom and Magellan units feature a 1 year warranty.  Warranty terms and conditions are described in the GPS unit owner's manual.

Garmin Replacement Program - GPSmart will provide a new replacement unit for Garmin equipment that has failed, and is covered under the terms of manufacturers warranty.  Valid for current models only.

Extended Warranty Considerations - What you should know before purchasing any extended warranty:

Many credit cards offer both an extended warranty, and purchase security insurance (for example: loss, damage, theft)  when purchasing electronics such as GPS.  This comparison table is intended only as a guideline.  GPSmart accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of this information.  Please consult with your issuing financial institution  is verify the coverage provided .

Returns

GPSmart will provide a refund or credit for unopened products returned within 15 days of purchase.  A 5% restocking fee (minimum of $15.00) will apply to returned product.  Product packaging must be unopened and unmarked.  Shipping costs are non-refundable.  

Special order items, and bulk orders, are exempt from this policy.  Special order items, and bulk orders are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Items that have been opened and used will be considered for refund or credit on an individual basis; for example a 15% return charge may apply for used product where software has been "unlocked" and registered.
